On Saturday, women in Rivers State spread their wrappers on the road for the convoy of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to pass over during an event held in Port Harcourt.
This was captured in a video posted on X by the minister’s media aide, Mr. Lere Olayinka.

The footage shows women placing their wrappers along the path as Wike’s car arrived at the location.
Along with the video, Olayinka posted:“Port Harcourt City Local Government is today. This is how the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, was received a few minutes ago”
This gathering happened in the state capital during a time of intense political friction in Rivers State, where supporters of Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara are involved in a long-standing conflict over power.
