Kwankwaso Makes Declaration After Kano Governor’s Exit From NNPP

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former NNPP presidential candidate, has declared that he remains devoted to his political principles, asserting, “I’m not for sale.”

His comments follow the high-profile exit of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, who resigned from the NNPP along with various “local government chairmen, some members of the House of Representatives and aides.”

Speaking to loyalists at his Kano home on Friday, Kwankwaso insisted that his career has always focused on the “emancipation of ordinary Nigerians.”

He told the crowd, “Our political convictions keep me grounded. If I were in it for personal gain, I would have taken the easy route and you would be looking for me elsewhere, not in this place.”

Kwankwaso further emphasized that his movement thrives on shared beliefs rather than financial rewards, noting, “If I were motivated by greed, I would have taken the money and run, and you would not be here showing your support.”

In light of the political shifts in the state, Kwankwaso called for an early start to “mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.”

He warned his followers that “there are people hell-bent on destroying what we built over time,” and urged them to remain vigilant.

“We need people like you who have sacrificed and stood by the truth. You should not relent, because one day, we will achieve our objectives,” he said.

Reiterating his dedication to the common man, he concluded, “My mission is to always fight for the ordinary people. I will not compromise with those who exploit the masses.”
