Celebrated businessman and socialite Obi Iyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana, has been officially appointed as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement.
The appointment letter was personally delivered by Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
In a social media update shared on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, the entrepreneur revealed that the presentation took place during a visit by Seyi Tinubu to his residence on Monday night. Beyond the appointment, the two discussed several matters of national importance.
Responding to the diverse opinions sparked by his new role, the Anambra-born businessman defended his involvement in the movement.
He argued that isolation is not the path to progress, stating that meaningful change could only be achieved through active engagement rather than isolation.
He further assured his followers that this political role would not derail his core values of integrity and community service.
Obi Cubana spoke highly of the President’s background, describing President Tinubu as “a City Boy and a man of commerce.”
He expressed a firm commitment to ensuring that inclusivity remains a priority as he carries out his new responsibilities in the South-East.
The socialite also used the opportunity to advocate for political tolerance, asking for respect for differing opinions while urging citizens to prioritize national development. He concluded by thanking his supporters for their encouragement and promising to work toward a more inclusive future for all.
