Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a stern warning to governors and politicians supporting Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, claiming they will eventually be victimized by the same acts of “betrayal” they are currently encouraging.
Speaking in Port Harcourt on Saturday during the opening of the Rivers State Renewed Hope Ambassadors Headquarters—a facility equipped with a radio station and a situation room to mobilize support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 reelection—Wike characterized his message as a spiritual warning to second-term governors and other high-ranking officials.
The former governor, who is currently locked in a political feud with his successor, asserted that the law of karma would affect those backing Fubara.

“Let me tell you one thing: today is the 7th of February. Whoever is watching, whether you are a senator, whether a House of Reps member, or a minister, whether you are a governor and you support betrayers, people will continue to betray you in life,” Wike declared.
He suggested that the fallout from such betrayal would be devastating for his opponents, stating, “Betrayal is your portion, and the day you will be betrayed, you will not have a mouth to say anything; there you will collapse. You will reap the seed that you planted.”
Wike further predicted that while it took several months for Fubara to move against him, the politicians supporting the governor would face even swifter opposition from their own hand-picked successors.
“Watch every governor who is doing his second tenure, who has ambition to put a successor and is supporting a betrayer – you will never survive it. The day your successor comes in, my own took some months; your own will start immediately. This is what the gods of the land have told me to tell you people,” he added.
Addressing the 2027 election cycle, Wike dismissed the need for Governor Fubara’s assistance in delivering Rivers State for President Tinubu.
He emphasized that his coalition of lawmakers and party leaders is sufficient for the task, stating, “We don’t need to have a governor to mobilise for Mr President. We don’t need it. We have all it takes to be on our own.”
Recalling the 2023 elections as a pivotal moment for the state, Wike concluded by affirming that his group’s commitment to Tinubu’s potential 2027 run remains firm.
“In 2023, we came out without anybody pressuring us, without anybody influencing us. We took a decision. To the glory of God, that decision is what we are enjoying today,” he remarked.
