Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State and a key member of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), has suggested that there is a plan by security operatives in Nigeria to arrest him.
In an interview with the BBC Hausa Service, El-Rufai clarified that while he has not yet been taken into custody, the recent detention of several of his close allies makes him believe he could be the next target.
“About four people we worked with in Kaduna have been arrested. So, it may only be a matter of time before they come for me as well,” El-Rufai said during the interview.
