On Wednesday, a budget defense session in the Senate turned into a confrontation between the Minister of Works, David Umahi, and the Senator for Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole.
The friction began during a review of the ₦15 trillion Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway project.
Tensions rose as Oshiomhole questioned the Minister regarding project delays and the transparency of the funding.
In response, a “visibly agitated” Umahi accused the Senator of “showing disrespect” and using “foul language” during the formal proceedings.
Senator Rufai Hanga intervened, calling Umahi a “two-month senator” and urging him to mind his language
Both Umahi and Oshiomhole are prominent members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
