President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Kano on Monday to lead a high-profile reception at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, where he will officially welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event is being organized as a major political milestone, with Vice President Kashim Shettima and several APC governors expected to attend.
Party leaders have described the gathering as a strategic move aimed at consolidating the APC’s influence within the North-West, a region long considered a critical political stronghold.

According to Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, the Kano State APC Chairman, the reception will symbolically and formally integrate the Governor into the ruling party.
He noted that the development represents a significant turning point for the party in Kano.
To ensure a successful and hitch-free ceremony, the APC has inaugurated several specialized committees to manage security, logistics, and public engagement.
The security arrangements will be overseen by a 15-member committee led by Col. Umar Malami, while a 16-member Venue Committee, chaired by Hon. Bala Mohd Gwagwarwa with Engr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as secretary, will manage the stadium facilities.

Additionally, a Publicity Committee headed by Hon. Muhammad Garba will handle media relations, and a Health Emergency and Sanitation Committee, led by Dr. Abubakar Labaran, will coordinate medical services.
Further preparations include a Protocol Committee chaired by Hon. Abdullahi Rogo to manage the reception of dignitaries and a 20-member Mobilisation Committee led by Hon. Mohd Bello Butu-Butu.
The latter has been tasked with ensuring a massive turnout for the event, reflecting the party’s commitment to making the governor’s transition a landmark occasion in the state’s political history.
