Caleb University Appoints Adeboye’s Wife Chancellor

Pastor Folu Adeboye, the wife of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s General Overseer, Enoch Adeboye, has been officially named the Chancellor of Caleb University in Imota, Lagos.

This announcement followed the university’s 15th convocation ceremony, where she was also honored with a Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa) degree.

According to a statement from Olawale Adekoya, the university’s Information, Media, and Publication Specialist, Pastor Adeboye will now serve as the ceremonial head of the institution, presiding over future convocations and the conferring of degrees.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olalekan Asikhia highlighted the weight of this appointment, noting that the selection of the beloved cleric, widely known as “Mummy G.O.,” represents what has been called “a convergence of scholarship and sanctity” — a rare alignment of intellectual excellence and spiritual authority at the summit of university governance.”

Prof. Asikhia further emphasized her track record as a leader, stating that for many years she has been “an institutional builder, a counsellor of nations, and a matriarch whose disciplined grace has fortified one of the world’s largest Christian movements.”

The University Registrar, Mr. Mayokun Olumeru, expressed deep pride in her new role, referring to her as “a guardian of values, and a steady moral compass in turbulent times.”

Beyond her new academic leadership role, Pastor Adeboye is widely recognized for her work in youth mentorship, family counseling, and education.

Her appointment comes at a high point for Caleb University, which recently saw 1,924 students graduate, including 96 who earned First Class honors and 22 who completed their doctoral degrees.
