The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a political support group for President Bola Tinubu, has been directed by the President to carry out a nationwide distribution of rice to support citizens during the Ramadan and Lenten seasons.
This initiative was announced on Saturday by the Director-General of the group and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.
In his statement, Uzodinma emphasized that the effort is designed to strengthen “national unity and demonstrating compassion during a period that holds deep spiritual significance for both Muslims and Christians.”

He noted that the timing of the intervention is intentional, as “Ramadan and Lent are seasons that remind us of sacrifice, charity, and care for one another.”
To ensure the aid reaches those in need, the group will utilize its extensive local presence. The statement further explained: “Under the directive, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will coordinate the distribution through their nationwide grassroots network to ensure that families across Nigeria benefit from the intervention during this holy season when both Muslims and Christians are fasting,”
This follows a similar program conducted during the last Christmas season, reinforcing the administration’s focus on supporting Nigerians during major religious and cultural observances.
The distribution is intended to serve both Christian and Muslim communities, underscoring a commitment to inclusivity and national togetherness.
