The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has revealed a strategic directive from President Bola Tinubu to recruit 25 canvassers for every polling unit across Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 elections.
This grassroots mobilization plan was disclosed on Tuesday by the Ondo State Coordinator of the RHA, Victor Olabimtan, during the inauguration of the group’s state executives in Akure.
Olabimtan described the RHA as a “child of necessity” designed to serve as a bridge between the presidency and local communities, with the specific task of “countering misinformation and disseminating facts about federal government policies and programmes.”
In Ondo State alone, which has over 3,000 polling units, the goal is to secure up to one million votes through this structured approach.

Explaining the logistics of the plan, Olabimtan stated: “This is a big challenge. That is why the RHA has been structured in such a way that he would get these votes. The president has directed that in each of the polling units we should get him 25 canvasses; all these people would be remunerated three months before and two months after.”
He emphasized that the focus of the 2027 contest is local, noting: “The job of winning the election is at the various units, not in the ward, not in the state, and not in Abuja. The target is that these 25 people per unit should be able to bring five people each to come and vote, and you multiply that with the state and nationwide; the election is over and won.”
Olabimtan further argued that this overwhelming numbers-based strategy would make interference impossible: “We want the situation that when the election is concluded, no one will talk, no one can rig again, and you cannot rig, and you cannot manipulate again; all the votes will be directly transferred to the server, so there’s no room for manipulation. That is why our opponents are busy criticising.”
Defending the administration’s record, the coordinator claimed that President Tinubu inherited an economy that was “not just in shambles… it was running on deficit, with government at all levels struggling to pay salaries.”
He praised the President’s proactive nature, stating: “Governance is no child’s play. Some governments that came before PBAT adopted a reactionary approach in sharp contrast to the proactive approach of the current government. By adopting long-term and goal-orientated strategies, this government has moved beyond reactionary policy-making to proactively address complex challenges and opportunities.”
