The retail price for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has shifted this week following a new gantry price adjustment.
Most retail outlets have moved their prices to a baseline of ₦1,000 per kg, though some neighborhood “skid” plants are charging as much as ₦1,300 per kg due to rising logistics and haulage costs.

Why Prices Changed This Week
The market is currently reacting to two major factors:

Dangote Gantry Hike: On Monday, March 23, the Dangote Refinery adjusted its LPG ex-gantry price to ₦825 per kg, up from the previous range of ₦760–₦800. Marketers noted that “Even the Dangote refinery has increased its price. It’s ₦825 from Dangote as of today,” which has forced retail stations to cross the ₦1,000/kg mark.

Logistics Pressure: With petrol prices also seeing a slight increase to ₦1,245 per litre at some outlets, the cost of transporting gas cylinders from coastal depots to inland retail points has risen.

Depot Competition: While Dangote is at ₦825, other depots like Navgas and Ardova are quoting between ₦950 and ₦1,000 per kg for bulk purchases, keeping the retail market highly competitive but expensive for the end user.
