Tinubu’s Aide Ja’oji Resigns

Nasir Bala Aminu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Citizenship and Leadership, who is popularly recognized as “Ja’oji,” has officially resigned from his post as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.

His departure is in direct response to a recent mandate from President Tinubu, which requires all political appointees with ambitions for elective office in 2027 to vacate their positions by March 31, 2026.

This order affects a wide range of officials, including ministers, special advisers, and other senior aides within the administration.

In his formal resignation letter, Ja’oji expressed his deep appreciation to the President for the chance to serve.

He characterized his appointment as a clear sign of the government’s focus on empowering the next generation, noting that his selection was a result of the President’s “confidence in young Nigerians and his desire to empower them to contribute to national development.”

Even as he steps down, Ja’oji affirmed his continued commitment to the administration, pledging his “loyalty and readiness to serve the country in any capacity if called upon by the president in future.”

He also lauded the “Renewed Hope Initiative,” describing it as the primary force behind government policies focused on national progress.

He shared his belief that the current administration’s agenda would achieve even more significant milestones “if given another term in office beyond 2027.”

While Nasir Bala Aminu did not name the specific office he intends to run for, his resignation is a clear step toward the 2027 ballot.

His supporters have already expressed their enthusiasm for the move, voicing their “confidence in his ambition and pledging their support for his political aspirations.”
