The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially debunked reports claiming that its National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has resigned, labeling the rumors as both false and malicious.
In a robust response from the National Chairman’s Media Office, the party dismissed the allegations as “an insidious fabrication” created by what it described as “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”
The party clarified that Senator Mark remains fully in charge and that there has been no discussion regarding his departure.
According to the statement, “The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party.”

Leadership within the ADC maintains that the party is united and focused on its role in Nigeria’s democratic space.
They suggested that these destabilization attempts are born out of a fear of the ADC’s rising influence as the 2027 general elections approach.
The statement further noted that the party is committed to protecting the country’s political diversity, adding: “The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system.”
The ADC concluded by urging the public to ignore the speculation and expressed full confidence in the party’s continued stability under Senator Mark’s leadership.
