A suit filed by the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, seeking to disqualify President Bola Tinubu from the 2027 presidential election over his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate has been stalled at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During the court session, the plaintiff’s counsel, Joseph Onu, stated that he had been unable to serve the defendant personally and requested to do so either directly or through substituted service, while rebuffing attempts by Tinubu’s legal team to receive the summons directly.

The lawsuit challenges Tinubu’s eligibility for another term, arguing that the NYSC certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) bears the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle” instead of his official name, “Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
