Why I’m Not Thinking Of Re-election – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized that his focus remains on restructuring the Nigerian economy rather than the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He expressed his commitment to delivering economic benefits to the Nigerian people.

This statement follows expressions of support for Tinubu’s potential re-election from several key figures in the All Progressives Congress (APC), including former National Chairman Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and governors Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti).

These party leaders declared their backing for Tinubu and other APC candidates during the 2027 elections.

The comments were made at the 2024 South-West Assembly of the APC, hosted by Governor Sanwo-Olu in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu serves as the Zonal Coordinator of the APC, and the event attracted a large gathering of party stakeholders from the southwest, including senators, members of the House of Representatives, State Assembly members, local government officials, and top party leaders.

Former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi delivered a keynote address, praising Tinubu as a “listening leader” committed to success.

Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, urged Nigerians to be patient as his administration works toward genuine progress.

The assembly, the first since Tinubu’s 2023 presidential victory, also addressed key issues concerning the party’s growth and future in the South-West Zone.
