BREAKING: Fubara Loses As Appeal Court Sets Aside Rivers 2024 Budget Passed By Edison-Ehie Group

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has upheld the Federal High Court’s ruling, which nullified the N800 billion budget passed by five members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by the Edison Ehie group.

The appellate court dismissed the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, stating that it lacked merit.

The court ruled that since Governor Fubara had withdrawn his counter-affidavit at the lower court, he could not initiate an appeal on a matter he did not contest at the trial stage.
