Victor Boniface Shares Video Showing Nature Of Bus Sent To Pick Up Super Eagles Team At Airport In Libya

Nigerian forward Victor Boniface has shared a video showing the bus sent to pick super eagles team at the airport last night in Libya.

He criticised the nature of the bus in a tweet he shared with the video on X.

”See Iskaba wey them bring come yesterday Nobody enter ooo”, Boniface wrote to accompany the video below:

Boniface earlier spoke out about the team’s ordeal after being delayed for over 12 hours at Al Abraq International Airport in Libya on Sunday.

The Super Eagles, who had arrived for their AFCON 2025 qualifier against Libya, were originally scheduled to land at Benghazi Airport.

However, their chartered ValueJet flight was diverted at the last minute to the smaller Al Abraq International Airport.

The Nigerian team experienced significant delays, sparking outrage over the poor treatment by Libyan authorities ahead of the crucial qualifier.

Expressing his frustration on X on Monday, Boniface wrote, “Been at the airport for almost 13 hours, no food, no Wi-Fi, nowhere to sleep. Africa, we can do better.”

In a statement released on Monday by the Nigeria Football Federation, it was reported that the diversion happened as the pilot was finalizing the approach to Benghazi.

This unexpected rerouting left players and officials stranded without any reception or transportation from the host, the Libyan Football Federation, despite prior arrangements.

The team was scheduled to be transported to their hotel in Benghazi, about three hours away, but the diversion derailed these plans.

The NFF statement added, “Fatigued players and officials have remained nonplussed as the host Libyan Football Federation failed to send any reception team or even vehicles to take the delegation members from the airport to their hotel, which is said to be three hours away in Benghazi.

“The NFF made arrangements for separate vehicles for the team, but the plan was unhinged by the diversion of the aircraft.

“Players have resolved not to play the match any longer as NFF officials are making plans to fly the team back home.”
