Why I Cannot Establish Church After Retirement – Oyedepo’s Deputy, Aremu

Bishop Thomas Aremu, Vice President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), has announced that he has no plans to start his own ministry after retirement.

Instead, he intends to remain with the church that has been a cornerstone of his life for over 40 years.

Aremu, along with Bishop David Abioye, both of whom have served as Vice Presidents under the leadership of Bishop David Oyedepo, the church’s founder, will be retiring after decades of service.

During his Valedictory Service held at the Living Faith Church in Orita Bashorun, Ibadan, on Tuesday, Aremu looked back on his journey, which began in 1983, and expressed deep gratitude for the spiritual mentorship and support he has received from Bishop Oyedepo throughout his ministry.

He said, “I don’t have a church, and I cannot have a church because God has not infused me with the capacity to do so. This is my church.

“Even after retirement, I shall remain in the Winners family. I may be privileged to bless other churches other than Winners, but there is nothing I am going to teach them also than what I have learnt in Winners.

“God planted me in this commission, and I am convinced this is where I belong,” he stated.

Aremu emphasized that while he may support other churches, he will only share the teachings he has received from Winners Chapel.

He also plans to document the lessons and virtues he has gained over the years to inspire future generations.

With a strong commitment to charity, Aremu expressed his desire to assist the less fortunate, including widows, orphans, and the fatherless.

The service, which celebrated Aremu’s decades of dedication, was graced by Bishop Oyedepo, his wife Faith, Bishop Abioye, and representatives from the Oyo State Government.
