Fubara Approves N85,000 Minimum Wage For Civil Servants In Rivers

The Rivers State Government has approved a new minimum wage of N85,000 for civil servants in the state.

George Nwaeke, the Head of Service, announced that Governor Siminalayi Fubara granted the approval during a closed-door meeting with labor leaders and senior government officials.

Nwaeke confirmed that the implementation of the new minimum wage will take effect immediately.

Chukwu Emecheta, Chairman of the Joint Negotiation Team, commended Governor Fubara for meeting the expectations of Rivers State workers and expressed gratitude for the Governor’s dedication to the workforce.

Alex Agwanwor, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Rivers State, added that the minimum wage will significantly ease the economic challenges faced by workers in the state.
