Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) in Nigeria have announced updated prices for various electricity meter models, marking the second price increase within four months.
Effective from Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the revised prices reflect the deregulation of Meter Asset Providers (MAP) as directed by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
The cost of a single-phase meter has now risen from approximately N117,000 to as high as N149,800, depending on the specific DisCo and meter vendor involved.
For Eko DisCo, single-phase meters are priced between N135,987.5 and N161,035, while three-phase meters range from N226,600 to N266,600.

In Ibadan DisCo, single-phase meters are offered between N130,998 and N142,548, with three-phase meters available from N226,556.25 to N232,008.04.
Abuja DisCo prices its single-phase meters between N123,130.53 and N147,812.5, while three-phase meters range from N206,345.65 to N236,500.
Similarly, Kano DisCo’s single-phase meters now sell between N127,925 and N129,999.75, and three-phase meters range from N223,793 to N235,425.
At Kaduna DisCo, single-phase meters are priced between N131,150 and N142,548.94, while three-phase meters range from N220,375 to N232,008.04.
These new prices, inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT), reflect adjustments across the five DisCos following the regulatory changes by NERC.
