Victor Osimhen will lead Nigeria’s attack as the Super Eagles face Benin Republic in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
Osimhen, who missed Nigeria’s previous match against Libya due to injury, returns to the starting lineup at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Sevilla’s Kelechi Iheanacho also returns to the lineup and will partner with the in-form Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman in the Super Eagles’ forward line.

The team will be up against Benin, coached by former Nigerian manager Gernot Rohr.
Interim coach Austine Eguavoen has handed a debut start to Auxerre defender Gabriel Osho. Stanley Nwabali keeps his place in goal, with stand-in captain William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, and Calvin Bassey completing the backline.
Fulham’s Alex Iwobi will be the team’s creative spark in midfield, alongside regulars Wilfred Ndidi and Bruno Onyeamachi.
Nigeria need at least a draw against their neighbors to secure their spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament. The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm (WAT).
With 10 points from four games, the Super Eagles will also face Rwanda in Uyo on Monday for the final match of the AFCON qualification series.
