Speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day conference organized by the British Council in Abuja on Tuesday, Dr. Alausa stated that scholars will now receive their training within Nigeria.
The conference, themed “Building Sustainable and Relevant Tertiary Institutions and Systems in Africa,” brought together key stakeholders in education.

Dr. Alausa also revealed that the Federal Government plans to invest significantly in the development of the country’s universities, including the construction of simulation labs, as part of efforts to enhance higher education infrastructure.
“We have just decided to canceled foreign training for scholars. The amount of money we are spending to train one scholar abroad, we could use it to train 20 people here. We will be training everybody here.
