Dino Melaye Reacts As Court Remands Yahaya Bello In Kuje Prison

Former two-time member of the National Assembly, Senator Dino Melaye, has responded to the remand of Kogi State’s immediate past governor, Yahaya Bello, at the Kuje Custodial Centre by an FCT High Court Judge on Tuesday, claiming he had predicted the outcome six years ago.

Melaye, a prominent figure in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, took to his Facebook page on Tuesday night to share an old video of himself.

In the video, he sings in Yoruba, predicting that former Governor Bello would end up in prison after completing his eight-year tenure at the helm of Kogi State’s government in Lokoja.

Accompanying the video, the former federal lawmaker wrote: “6 years ago, SDM predicted Yahaya Bello would end up in prison. Today, he will be spending Chrismas in Kuje prison. All powers belong to God.”

Melaye and Bello have been bitter political rivals since 2016, when their relationship soured shortly after Bello’s rise to the governorship of Kogi State.
