APC Reacts As Kwankwaso, Duke Meet Obasanjo In Abeokuta

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is politically ahead of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).

APC National Publicity Director Bala Ibrahim expressed that neither Kwankwaso, Obi, nor Obasanjo pose any significant threat to Tinubu.

Ibrahim made the statement while dismissing a recent meeting between Kwankwaso, Donald Duke, and Obasanjo. Obasanjo had met with Kwankwaso and Duke in Absolute, Ogun State, on Saturday.

While Kwankwaso described the gathering as a courtesy call focused on discussing national issues affecting politics and governance in Nigeria, Ibrahim dismissed it as inconsequential, asserting that Tinubu holds greater political relevance and influence.

In his statement, Ibrahim emphasized that the combined political influence of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, and Duke would not yield any meaningful impact.

He said: “But when it comes to the politics of Nigeria, particularly contemporary politics, Tinubu is not their mate.

“Tinubu is head and shoulders above them in modern politics in Nigeria. So the combination of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and Donald Duke, who was my schoolmate, does not present a threat to Tinubu. These are people who were trashed in the last election.

“So they can have marathon meetings and meet till the end of time, but they will not present any threat to the government of APC. Who among Kwankwaso, Obasanjo, Obi, Duke was not beaten? If they are bringing angels, it’s a different story.”
