Governor Diri made the comments during a Christmas visit to the hometown of the former governor, Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area (LGA).
He was accompanied by his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo. During the visit, Diri acknowledged the pivotal role Dickson played in his emergence as governor and reiterated his commitment to continue collaborating with him for the development of the state.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Daniel Alabrah, on Tuesday, Governor Diri condemned the spread of false rumors in the state.

He emphasized that the visit would dispel any lingering speculations about a rift between him and Dickson, whom he referred to as his mentor.
The governor also noted that while he, as the current governor, was not perfect, both he and Dickson had built a strong relationship over the years.
He assured that any differences that may arise would be addressed amicably, as they had always done in the past.
