Tinubu Gives Former Deputy Governor Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Nasiru Gawuna, the former Deputy Governor of Kano State, as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

This was announced in a statement issued on Friday by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

Gawuna, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2023 governorship election, was also appointed in 2024 as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Bayero University, Kano.

He served as Deputy Governor under former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje after the resignation of Prof. Afiz Abubakar in late 2018.
