Trump Signs Executive Order On Mexican Tariff Pause

On Monday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order suspending the planned tariffs on Mexican goods, acknowledging Mexico’s efforts to tackle illegal migration and drug trafficking.

The 25% tariff, initially set to be imposed, has been delayed until March 4, 2025, to allow for further evaluation of Mexico’s actions.

The suspension allows US officials time to assess whether Mexico’s actions are adequate to address the issues at the US-Mexico border. If the situation deteriorates, the President may move forward with implementing the tariffs.
