Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has welcomed Senator Shehu Sani and other key political figures in the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He assured Shehu Sani and the 49 other political leaders who joined the party that they would enjoy the same rights and privileges as long-standing members.
The Governor made this statement during a large rally at Murtala Square on Saturday, where he addressed a crowd of party supporters.

He emphasized that there was no distinction between new members of APC and those who had been with the party for years, stating that all members, regardless of when they joined, held the same status.
He encouraged the new members to inform their supporters of APC’s openness to accepting more defectors, pointing out that the party’s widespread popularity is due to its fair leadership at both state and federal levels.
Governor Sani also assured that APC has firmly established itself in Kaduna State, the entire North, and across Nigeria.
He expressed confidence that in the 2027 elections, voters would support APC across all levels of government, from the presidency to the state and national assembly elections.
The Governor further promised continued development across the state, ensuring that all areas would benefit from projects, regardless of political affiliation or ethnic/religious background. He stressed that governance requires fairness to all, as he pledged to uphold the oath of office.
Acknowledging that leaders are human and can make mistakes, Sani called on the people to point out errors to facilitate correction.
He reminded party members that leaders will ultimately be accountable for their actions in the afterlife.
Notable figures who defected to the APC include former Governor Muktar Ramalan-Yero, Senator Shehu Sani, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, former NNPP gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Sani Sha’aban, Senator Danjuma Laah, former PDP National Organizing Secretary Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, and former Nigerian Ambassador to South Korea, Amb. Sule Buba.
