Assembly Reacts As Rivers Government Denies Receiving Letter Concerning House Resolution

The Rivers State House of Assembly has challenged the state government’s claim that it has not yet received the letter concerning the House’s resolution.

The Speaker’s principal secretary informed Channels Television that the letter was sent to the Government House on March 3rd via FedEx courier.

However, when the courier arrived at the government house gate, personnel there received a call instructing them not to accept the delivery and to return it to the sender.

This followed the Rivers State House of Assembly’s resolution on Monday, which gave Governor Fubara 48 hours to present the 2025 appropriations bill to them.

In response, the state government stated that they had not officially received the letter containing the resolution.

A letter from the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, stated: “As of the close of work on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, we have not received the letter. Neither the Governor’s office, the Deputy Governor’s office, nor the Accountant-General’s office has received the said letter.”
