Ezekwesili Reacts Strongly To Natasha’s Suspension

Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has condemned the six-month suspension imposed on Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan by the Senate, calling it a “vicious abuse of power.”

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Ezekwesili criticized the Senate for not addressing the sexual harassment allegations raised by Natasha against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, instead choosing “the ignoble path of vicious abuse of power and desecration of our public institution.”

Ezekwesili added, “When men, due to fleeting power, start speaking as though they are God, we must remember the lessons history teaches about such individuals.”

She also expressed support for Natasha, stating, “Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, you have inspired a generation. You have inspired all credible citizens. You will never walk alone.”

The suspension occurred just ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025.
