Tinubu Reacts As Former Minister Dies

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu expressed his condolences to the family, friends, and associates of Dubem Onyia, a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, who passed away on Monday at the age of 73.

The President conveyed his sympathy through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled “President Tinubu mourns former Foreign Affairs Minister Dubem Onyia.”

In his tribute, Tinubu described Onyia as a highly skilled administrator, accountant, and esteemed political leader.

Onyia, who hailed from Enugu State in the southeastern part of Nigeria, also held several significant positions.

He served as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and chaired the International Technical Commission for the National Boundary Commission, the Nigeria Economic Joint Commission, and the São Tomé and Príncipe Joint Boundary Commission.

While mourning his death, Tinubu praised Onyia’s distinguished service and unwavering dedication to nation-building, describing him as a statesman and patriot who made valuable contributions to Nigeria’s political progress.

The President also extended his condolences to the government and people of Enugu State, particularly the Ngwo Community, on the loss of their distinguished son.

In conclusion, Tinubu prayed that God grants Onyia’s soul eternal peace and provides comfort to his family.
