How To Obtain Tinted Glass Permit

The Nigeria Police Force has provided a detailed nine-step guide to assist motorists in easily registering and applying for a tinted glass permit through its official online portal.

The instructions outline that applicants need to visit the Police Specialised Services Automation Project website at www.possap.gov.ng and register using their National Identification Number, Bank Verification Number (BVN), or Tax Identification Number.

After completing the registration form with accurate personal details, users are required to create an account and verify it via a code sent to their email address.

Once verified, they can log in using their registered email and password to proceed with the application process.

Applicants must then choose the “Tinted Glass Permit” service, enter their vehicle information, and upload all the required supporting documents.

After confirming that all the submitted information is correct, they will need to make the necessary payment.

The final step involves scheduling a vehicle inspection and biometric data capture at a designated Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Department location to finalize the application.

This simplified digital process reflects the police’s commitment to improving transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of its services for the public.

The resumption of tinted glass permit issuance nationwide follows a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

According to the police spokesperson, this move is a response to increasing public concerns and complaints about the harassment of vehicle owners by law enforcement officers for having factory-installed tinted windows.
