An 18-year-old apprentice in Anambra State has reportedly impregnated 10 girls within a mere five months, including his master’s daughter and a salesgirl.
According to reports, the young man was initially placed under an apprenticeship. However, within three months, he allegedly impregnated both his boss’s daughter and a salesgirl, leading to his dismissal.
The state Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, shared this information in a live video on social media on Wednesday.

Obinabo stated that the situation escalated after the apprentice returned to his village. “I want advice from the public because this one is beyond my capacity,” she said. “This boy was sent to learn a trade at the age of 18 and three months of apprenticeship, and he impregnated his master’s daughter and his salesgirl. He was sent packing. Two months after that, he impregnated eight other girls in the village.”
Obinabo also mentioned that the boy’s mother approached her office to report the issue, expressing her distress by saying, “‘Anytime I see a girl coming towards our house nowadays, my heart would jump, please, I need help.'”
Obinabo admitted her difficulty in handling the situation, asking the public for solutions and questioning, “Is it spiritual?”
She recounted asking the boy about his methods of persuasion. “I asked the boy the magic he uses in luring the girls to bed, but he told me he always tells them that he loves them and would like to marry them any time he acquires wealth.”
Obinabo concluded by reiterating the complexity of the case due to the boy’s age and the number of pregnancies involved, hence her appeal for public assistance in finding a solution.
She did not disclose the names of the individuals or their community but sought suggestions from the public.
