Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso announced on Friday that he will depart the club at the end of the current season.

This announcement comes amidst strong speculation linking him to a managerial position at Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Alonso stated that it was “the right moment” to declare his exit but refrained from confirming his next destination, saying that “it was not the right moment to talk too much about the future.”
