President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 22 individuals to key positions across various federal agencies and commissions.
This is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen public institutions and enhance service delivery.

Among the notable appointees are prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts:
- Former Senate President Ken Nnamani will chair the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
- Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Anyim Pius Anyim will chair the National Merit Awards Committee.
- Former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema has been appointed Chairman of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
The list also includes:
- Former Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, now Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Sport.
- Veteran labor leader Isa Aremu, re-appointed as Director-General of the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies.
These appointments were announced on Saturday evening by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, via his X (formerly Twitter) handle.6
In the agriculture and development sector, Tinubu named Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as Managing Director of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC), supported by two executive directors: Abubakar Umar Jarengol (Operations/Technical) and Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed (Finance/Administration).7
Other appointees include:
- Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir as Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development.
- Omobolanle Akinyemi-Obe as Director-General of the National Senior Citizens Centre.
- Dr. Segun Aina as Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria.
At the National Population Commission, Senator Jalo Zarami and Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu were appointed Federal Commissioners.
Further appointments include:
- Hamza Ibrahim Baba as National Program Manager of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
- Abubakar Adamu as the new Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria.
- Mohammed Lawal Ibrahim and Abdullahi Mohammed in executive roles at the Nigeria–Sao Tome Joint Development Authority.
- Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura as Director-General of the Centre for Citizenship and Leadership Training.
- Senator Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya as chairman of the Nigerian Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA).
- Dr. Shuaibu Shehu Aliyu as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.
- Prof. Almustapha Alhaji Aliyu as Managing Director of NNPC Gas Marketing Limited.
The statement further noted that these latest appointments reflect President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reposition crucial government sectors by bringing in experienced professionals and seasoned administrators.
