“We Are Willing To Negotiate His Release, But …….” – FG Speaks On Nnamdi Kanu

The Federal Government has indicated its openness to negotiate the release of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

However, it firmly states that Kanu’s release should not be presented as a condition for political support.

Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, conveyed this stance on Friday night while speaking with journalists in Lagos.

He dismissed reports that suggested the South East region was demanding Kanu’s release as a prerequisite for supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“Somebody asked me about Nnamdi Kanu, and I said his matter is not a condition for the South East to support the President.

“We are willing to negotiate his release, but no one should make it a condition because the President did not put him there,” Umahi said.
