Nigeria’s immediate-past President, Muhammadu Buhari, will be buried in his hometown of Daura, located in the Katsina North senatorial zone of Katsina State.
Buhari passed away on Sunday evening at a clinic in London, United Kingdom, where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

Following the announcement, tributes have begun to pour in for the late elder statesman from various figures, including President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and State governors, among other political allies, former aides, and followers.
Bashir Ahmad, who served as a social media aide to the former President, confirmed the burial location on his verified Facebook page on Sunday night, stating that his former principal would be laid to rest in his native Daura town.
He wrote: “The remains of our former President, Muhammadu Buhari, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. The date and time of the burial will be communicated accordingly.”
