The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, ahead of his burial scheduled for Tuesday evening.
His remains were brought from the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport in Katsina, where President Bola Tinubu and other top dignitaries had earlier received the late leader with full honours.
The funeral motorcade, heavily guarded, made its way into Daura as mourning residents lined the streets to bid farewell to a man widely seen as a symbol of discipline and integrity in public life.

Buhari is being laid to rest this evening according to Islamic customs at a private burial site near his family home.
Dignitaries from across Nigeria and abroad — including traditional rulers, foreign diplomats, and senior government officials — have gathered in Daura to attend the final rites for the former president.
Buhari, who once ruled Nigeria as military Head of State and later served two terms as a democratically elected president, died on Sunday in a London hospital at the age of 82.
