President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of several new officials to the governing councils of various universities and new principal officers for the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe, Zamfara State.
These appointments were announced in a press statement on Tuesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Chisom Obih has been appointed to the Governing Council of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, in Ebonyi State.

In a separate appointment, renowned communications specialist Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye was named to the Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Prof. Akinfeleye, a former Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, replaces Wahab Owokoniran.
Prof. Ibrahim Adamu Yakasai has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.
Other key appointments for the institution include Hamisu Yusuf Yelwa as the Registrar, Usman Nakazalle Sanusi as the Bursar, and Dr. Shehu Aminu Liman as the Librarian.
Prof. Yakasai is a retired Colonel from the Nigerian Army and formerly served as the Provost of the College of Health Sciences at Bayero University in Kano.
His impressive academic background includes an MBBS from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and fellowships from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the United Kingdom and the International College of Surgeons in the USA.
