Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the notice of alleged defamatory statements sent by 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi to lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju.
The former Anambra State Governor is demanding a retraction of alleged defamatory statements.
This is coming after the Adeyanju sued Obi’s female aide, Serah Ibrahim, for defaming his wife.

In a demand notice posted by Adeyanju, Mr Obi’s lawyers, Ejesimen & Co. Madiba Chambers, accused the activist of making repeated derogatory remarks against the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party on social media platforms, particularly X.
The lawyers cited Mr Adeyanju’s long-standing criticisms of Mr Obi, including an earlier account the activist shared about a private meeting with the former governor..
The notice also referenced a more recent post made on August 21, in which Mr Adeyanju accused Mr Obi of investing state funds in a company in which his family allegedly had interests during his time in office.

Sani took to his social media page on Facebook to react to the threat from Obi to sue Adeyanju for defamation.
He wrote: Peter Obi appears to be taking steps to take Deji to court for defamation.Luckily,Deji is a lawyer and will not spend much to defend himself.
The former Kaduna Governor while on seat took me to 5 Kaduna High Courts while i was in the Senate.
My advice to young comrades on social media is not to be afraid of expressing your views but always keep money to pay your lawyers in case you are dragged to the courts.
Some people slander and insult others online because they don’t know the cost of going to court.Lawyers are learned men but not cheap men.
Most rights groups will say they will defend you but will disappear the moment the case drags on in court.
The facebook usually asks “what’s on your mind”. It’s not everything that is in that your mind that you should post.
