A fire “broke out at Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos, on Tuesday,” trapping “many workers” inside.
As the fire “raged,” many people were “scampering for safety.”
The building, located in the Marina Central Business District of Lagos, “housed a branch of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) office, among other businesses.”

During the incident, “some trapped workers in the building were seen jumping out of the towers” while a “rescue operation was underway.”
As of press time, “the cause of the fire is still under investigation,” and “no casualties have been reported.”
