Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has responded publicly to the massive reaction following a recent social media post where he appeared to cry for help.
The singer emphasized that the public outcry has been “blown out of proportion” and is now putting his wife, Natasha, in danger.
In a video posted by the X.com user #AsakeGrn on Wednesday, 2Baba distanced himself from the now-deleted Instagram Story that sparked the controversy, insisting he did not publish it.
He maintained that the viral message has created unnecessary panic around his home.

The Afrobeats star described the situation as dangerous, noting that he knows the extent of fan actions “when emotions run high.”
He stated:“This is getting out of hand, this is a dangerous situation, I know what fans can do, I know what people can do, and this is putting Natasha at risk.”
He appealed to fans, friends, and family to “cease fire” and allow the couple to resolve their disagreements privately.
He acknowledged that “disagreements in relationships are not unusual,” noting “People dey get issues for house, no be today,” but stressed that the current frenzy around his marriage has exceeded acceptable limits.
2Baba affirmed he is “perfectly fine” and urged the public to stop the panic:“It is not fair on anybody to face this kind of thing, so I need everybody to calm down, I need everybody to cease fire, we are going to resolve all these issues. Friends, family, everybody, cease fire, I am perfectly fine. I did not post that post, please, I am okay.”

This plea for calm follows earlier reports that the singer was briefly detained by UK police after an alleged altercation with Natasha during his October tour.
The matter recently resurfaced during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where the couple were reportedly heard arguing in the background, fueling speculation of a marital crisis.
