Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has publicly criticized members of his own family.
He accused them of fueling “damaging rumours” about his personal life and potentially “putting the safety of his partner, Natasha, at risk.”
In a video message posted on X.com late Thursday, the veteran singer stated that the situation had “gotten dangerously out of hand,” and vowed that he “would no longer keep quiet while his name and relationships were dragged through the mud.”
2Baba claimed that certain members of his family, while allegedly claiming they were trying to “save” him, had instead “destroyed” his peace and unfairly “targeted Natasha.”

He emphasized that despite persistent rumors concerning his mental state, he was “perfectly okay,” noting that he had recently performed in Abuja, where fans saw him “out there, living, breathing, working.”
The “African Queen crooner” also referenced his past marital issues, suggesting that his family has a history of escalating private disputes into “public spectacles.”
He went on to accuse former associates of fabricating lies and painting him as mentally unstable, an action he described as “equivalent to killing somebody.”
This video follows earlier reports that the singer was briefly detained by UK police after an alleged altercation with Natasha during his October tour.
The issue resurfaced more recently during an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, during which the couple were heard arguing in the background, which fueled speculation of a marital crisis and raised “concerns over the singer’s well-being.
