Senate Confirms 64 Career, Non-Career Ambassadorial Nominees

The Nigerian Senate has officially cleared all 64 nominees for both career and non-career ambassadorial roles.

This decision followed the review and subsequent adoption of a report presented by the Committee on Foreign Affairs, led by Senator Sani Bello.

While the recommendations were being finalized, Senator Sahabi Yau formally raised an objection, noting the “absence of any nominee from Zamfara State on the list.”

He specifically requested that the President be informed of this oversight.

Addressing the complaint, the Senate President clarified that the “current list was not exhaustive” and provided assurances to the chamber.

He promised to discuss the discrepancy with the President and “further affirms that additional ambassadorial nominations are expected and that Zamfara State would not be excluded.”
