The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased its petrol price to ₦1,175 per litre, leading depot operators in various regions to temporarily halt sales.
This latest adjustment reverses a previous reduction where the refinery had dropped the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by ₦100, lowering it to ₦1,075 per litre on March 10, 2026.
Following that earlier price cut, depot operators had begun selling at an average of ₦1,100 per litre; however, they immediately suspended transactions once the refinery announced the return to the higher rate.

To manage this transition, the refinery has also paused loading operations to allow for stock reconciliation and to align its systems with the new pricing structure.
Officials indicate that this revision is a direct consequence of the recent volatility in the global energy market.
Brent crude prices have climbed from approximately $91 to $100 per barrel, a surge that has significantly impacted refining costs.
