Outrage As Women Are Sexually Harassed In Ozoro Delta Over Alleged Rape Festival [VIDEOS]

A disturbing viral video surfacing on Friday has ignited widespread outrage, depicting scenes of alleged sexual assault and harassment of several women during a local festival in Ozoro, Delta State.

The footage, which has circulated extensively on social media, shows groups of young men reportedly attacking women in public spaces, forcefully tearing their clothing and subjecting them to various forms of molestation.

According to local reports, the incident took place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, during an annual community festival.

It is claimed that traditional norms for this specific event require women to remain indoors, and those found outside are allegedly targeted for harassment by participants.

Some unconfirmed accounts have further alleged that beyond public molestation, certain victims may have been raped.

Police Reacts To Viral Video

Responding to the development, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, Bright Edafe, condemned the acts shown in the video, describing the incident as “alarming, disgusting and embarrassing.”

He further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, has already taken action, noting that the Commissioner “had ordered a full investigation into the matter” to identify and apprehend those responsible.

He wrote, “This is alarming, disgusting and embarrassing. The CP has ordered an investigation into the incident.

“The command condemns this in totality, no custom or tradition is superior to the rights of citizens.

“The Commissioner of Police Delta State CP Aina Adesola urges Deltans to remain calm while assuring that those responsible for this barbaric act will be arrested and brought to justice.

“The command also calls for witnesses who can provide with useful information that can aid the ongoing investigation.”
