President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA).
The appointment, which is for an initial four-year term, officially took effect on April 16, 2026.
In a statement released by the Head of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Chris Ugwuegbulam, it was noted that the decision was made “in accordance with the provision of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.”
Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu is described as a “Public Health professional and policy strategist with a proven track record of driving impactful national programs.”
Following her appointment, the President “tasked the appointee to contribute her expertise to the agency for the good of the nation.”
