The family of 28-year-old Mene Ogidi is demanding justice following his extrajudicial killing by a Nigerian police officer, ASP Nuhu Usman, in Effurun, Delta State.
In an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Ogidi’s sister recounted the events leading up to his tragic death.
On Wednesday, April 29, the Nigeria Police Force announced the dismissal of ASP Nuhu Usman and other officers involved in the incident after an internal investigation.
According to the Force spokesperson, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the dismissed officers will be handed over to the appropriate judicial authorities to face prosecution for their roles in the extrajudicial shooting.
