“The Officer At The Scene Had No Beards, But The One Arrested Has Beards” — Man Raises Alarm Over Identity Of Police Officer Who Killed Mene Ogidi [VIDEO]

The video captures a man raising concerns over the identity of ASP Nuhu Usman, the officer arrested for the fatal shooting of 28-year-old musician Mene Ogidi in Delta State.

In the video, the man pointed out a significant discrepancy between the footage captured at the scene of the incident and the official photograph released by the Delta State Police Command.

He observed that while the officer filmed at the scene appeared clean-shaven, the individual in the police-issued arrest photo is seen sporting a full beard.

“The officer who was not carrying beards at the scene of the incident now had beards in the picture showing his arrest,” the man noted while comparing the two images.

The fatal encounter occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2026, after operatives from the Effurun Area Command intercepted Ogidi, who was allegedly attempting to send a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and ammunition.

During the arrest, ASP Nuhu Usman reportedly fired his weapon, leading to the musician’s death.

Despite the questions raised in the viral video, the police authorities have moved forward with disciplinary actions.

On Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer DCP Anthony Placid confirmed that the Inspector-General of Police has approved the dismissal and criminal prosecution of the officers involved.

The statement clarified that the decision followed “the conclusion of internal disciplinary reviews” regarding the April 26, 2026, shooting.
