Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant and well-known economist, has officially collected his expression of interest and nomination forms from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 elections.
He has committed to tackling Nigeria’s security challenges, fostering job creation, and reducing the soaring cost of living for citizens.
Hayatu-Deen is the first candidate to pick up the forms from the ADC, a move his team described as a clear sign of his rising political momentum.
After obtaining the forms, which are priced at N100 million, he emphasized that the upcoming election must prioritize economic recovery and national safety.

According to a statement from his media office, Hayatu-Deen remarked: “Nigerians are tired of living in fear. They are tired of watching businesses struggle, jobs disappear, and the cost of basic necessities rise beyond what ordinary people can afford.”
He further stressed that the 2027 polls represent a turning point for the country: “This election cannot be about politics as usual. It must be about how to secure our communities, rebuild confidence in the economy, create jobs at scale, and make life more affordable for millions of Nigerians. We cannot build prosperity in an atmosphere of fear and instability. Security is the foundation upon which every strong economy is built.”
Drawing on his extensive background in the private sector, the aspirant highlighted his readiness to lead: “I have spent decades helping businesses grow and supporting the creation of jobs. I understand what it takes to build institutions, unlock investment, and create opportunities at scale. Nigeria has the talent and potential to succeed, but we need disciplined leadership and serious execution. This is why I am putting my best foot forward.”
The ADC has designated May 6 to May 13 for the sale of its nomination forms. This comes as INEC has set the timeline for the 2027 general elections, with the presidential and National Assembly polls scheduled for January 16, 2027.
Party primaries are expected to take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026, with official campaigning for the presidency set to begin on August 19, 2026.
